Of the modern era, Allan Border, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting have been great captains and batsmen while Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Muttaih Muralidaran and Courtney Walsh have been ledgendary with their bowling but hold the record for a lot of ducks.

Of the latter era, it has got to be the West Indians Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Frank Worrell, Walcott, Weekes, Sir Vivian Richards, George Headley and Indian Sunil Gavaskar.

I agree with you .. he will go into the books as one of the greatest …. I think Pointing comes after that … just whicle seeing his no of centuries …. if only centuries are only factor which decided the best player if not .. then i will go with kallis and Dravid …..

No Doubt that Sachin is the best Player Ever !!!!!!!!
    Other than Him I think
Pointing , Hayden , Kalis, Ganguly Dada and Dravid.

In future from India i think
Suresh Raina. will go on to become very great player.
Widsen Cricket has rated him one player to watch out for in Future.

Sachin is a great player…No doubt. His batting ability is outstandng.
The problem arises & some people criticise him not coz he’s a bad player but coz he don’t play good while chasing or in a very crucial situation.
The straight answer to ur question is Sourav Ganguly. I’m sure if no body does not do bias then they will agree on it. Although Sourav scored fastest 6000, 7000, 8000, 9000 & 10,000 total runs in ODI, he’s under rated by people coz of his nature.

    Sachin is the best.
The next best has yet to come up with his talents.
It is difficult to be compared with the legend / God of cricket.

    Sachin is best.
    The second is RP Singh.

He is good for in Twenty 20,Odi,Test Matches.
    He take quick wickets.
He is also bowling great in the test match in Aus…

  14. rash says:

  16. Mark S says:

Tendulkar is one of the best but Ponting is right up there
hard to compare from other era’s hes one of the best of all time not sure if hes the best Bradman average 99.94 hard to beat that

  17. Bingalee says:

ICC rank Sachin no.7. in ODI ‘s, so go & think up a sensible question. Also 13 in test cricket, so that kind of shoots down your theory(wishful thinking)
